Time to Start RUNNING

Well, it is a new year and like so many, this year I actually care. Typically when the new year rolls around I don’t see what the hype is all about since really it is just a one day difference from Dec 31 but with all of the hardships 2010 brought to people I truly am excited to get to a new year. I think for many 2011 symbolizes hope for better days. Sure many people have fallen on hard times over the last few years but they are starting to see that although battered and bruised they are still standing. That in itself is inspiring many to put their best foot forward in order to MAKE 2011 a great year.

As for me I had ups and downs over 2010 like I do every year but I am only wired to remember the good things. 2010 will be remembered by  me as the year that proved with the right will you can overcome anything. Sure my business and family have felt the negative effect of the economy but being put under that pressure provided a reason for us to unite as a group and help each other overcome. 2010 was the year that I married my wife, became closer with my friends, understood the sacrifices that my Mother has made for me over the years, provided me the opportunity to influence so man people all around the globe and of course who could forget that 2010 was the year that landed me on the bodybuilding map. These things combined with the mistakes I made which forced me to evolve and grow are what made 2010 a great year.

So what’s on the agenda for 2011? The answer to this is simple…KEEP RUNNING!!!! Obviously at just a few pounds under 300 I am not literally talking about taking a run. What I mean is running toward and even beyond my goals. I don’t use the new year as a time to set goals but rather a time to reflect and see how much closer I have gotten. After spending that time reflecting I determine what needs to be done next because the moment a person stops “running” they become complacent and to me complacency is a death sentence. As humans we are only blessed with so much time and talents which means we should use BOTH of these gifts so that when it is our time to leave this earth we can rest in peace knowing that we have no regrets. I’m going to close out this blog not asking you to set huge goals that you may or may not achieve in 2011 but instead I challenge you to make goals daily for the next 365 days. Trust me when I say that if you succeed in reaching small goals daily you will achieve goals much larger than you ever imagined possible. Keep running and I’ll see you at the top.

It’s only a matter of time…
